
Tony Griffith is a lifelong Floridian, raised in Melbourne Beach and currently living in Ozona with his wife of over 30 years. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance from Florida State University in 1986 and was selected to the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honorary. He also was the President of Theta Chi Fraternity and served as the President of the FSU Chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society. In addition, he was selected for FSU's Gold Key Honorary Society and Order of the Omega. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the Florida State University College of Law in 1986, with Honors. He was also on the Board of the FSU Law Review and was selected to serve as an Article and Notes Editor. As a young lawyer, he was named to Leadership Pinellas.
Tony is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar and is also Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has received an AV Preeminent peer reviewed rating from Martindale-Hubbell National Law Directory. He has been named to SuperLawyers, Best Lawyers and Florida Trend's Legal Elite. He is also named a Patron Fellow of the American Bar Foundation "in recognition of exemplary dedication to highest principles of the legal profession, commitment to the welfare of society, and support for the ideals, objectives, and work of the American Bar Foundation." He was the recipient of the Clearwater Bar Association's annual Ralph Richards Award which recognizes attorneys that exhibit "an extraordinary sense of care, dedication, concern and service to both the legal profession and the community at large." Tony was also awarded the Barney Masterson Inn of Court "Barney Award" given annually "to a lawyer who demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, civility and legal excellence in the practice of law with a concentration in litigation."
Tony represents only injured persons and their family members in personal injury and wrongful death cases. His areas of practice involve primarily motor vehicle accident and motorcycle accident cases, as well as premises liability, slip and fall and trip and fall cases, and dog bite cases. He is a member of the Florida Justice Association, an organization dedicated to serving the interests of plaintiffs, injured persons and their families in litigation.
He has obtained numerous six and seven figure results for his clients through either settlements, judgments or verdicts. He has represented injured persons in state and Federal court throughout Florida. He has also represented injured persons on appeal in state appellate courts throughout Florida. He has appeared, argued, and won before the Florida Supreme Court, establishing new law favorable to all people involved in motor vehicle collisions in Florida.
Tony's passions and hobbies revolve around his wife, four daughters and extended family and actively living into the priorities of faith, family and friends. He has enjoyed being active with his church youth group, Life Teen, and music ministries over the past 20 plus years. He has been supportive of Pinellas Habitat for Humanity for many years, previously serving as its president. He is also involved with the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch as well as Springs of Hope Kenya, an orphanage in Africa.
